Who Are We?
We are a welcoming, loving church, that is one family of all ages and backgrounds. We have a desire to know Jesus and make him known in Lighthorne, Lighthorne Heath and Upper Lighthorne. We long to be Spirit filled and outward focused, serving and caring for another and our local community.
In 2023, the Benefice of the Midfosse Parishes, combining the parishes of Lighthorne, Lighthorne Heath, Chesterton, Morten Murrell and Newbold Pacey, disbanded. It was decided that with the exciting new development being built next to and attached to Lighthorne Heath, to be renamed Upper Lighthorne, that St Laurence will be a planting church for a new congregation in Upper Lighthorne. With oversight from the priest in charge at St Peter's Wellesbourne, Lighthorne and Upper Lighthorne is now operating as one ecclesial parish. The parish church, itself, meet on Sunday mornings for a traditional style service of Holy Communion, either with organ led hymns or a said service, whilst the new congregation, currently meeting at Lighthorne Heath Village Hall on Sunday afternoons, is a contemporary informal style church.
